Lot 2069 CUSTOM WINCHESTER MODEL 70 BULLPUP BOLT ACTION

RIFLE. Cal. 257 Roberts. S# 284001. Bbl. 21 1/8". Model 70 bolt action rifle originally mfg. by Winchester in 1954 and later converted into a custom bullpup rifle by L.H. Brown. The left side of the shortened factory bbl. exhibits standard markings denoting the model and cal. designations. Left side of the receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, with the S# marked on the right side of the chamber. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body and follower which are polished in-the-white. Custom 1-piece plain wood thumbhole stock with dark wood pistol grip cap, raised cheek rest, as well as a Model 70 checkered steel buttplate. Toeline of butt and underside of forearm feature sling studs and swivels. Custom made high profile scope mounts fitted with a Lyman Alaskan All-Weather 4x scope. Rear sight dovetail slot is empty. Receiver is factory drilled and tapped with plug screws. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside of the bolt body. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: generic soft case. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts to the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina (predominately on bolt knob and trigger guard), with some light edge wear present overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of what appears to be either hardened grease or light surface oxidation, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics.
